Testimony Ends, Judge To Announce Suttle Decision Thursday

Testimony wrapped up Wednesday in the court fight over an attempt to recall Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle. Judge Peter Bataillon is expected to announce his decision by 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Douglas County elections workers verified 28,720 of the petition signatures submitted, enough to force a vote. But Suttle is asking the judge to throw out the petition, saying the group that gathered signatures committed fraud.

A recall vote has been scheduled for January 25th. Suttle took office in 2009 and has said he won't resign.
