Terry Town Hall Draws Questions On Health Care, Immigration

Nebraska Rep. Lee Terry, back in Omaha on break, hosted a Town Hall meeting Thursday night in Elkhorn. Those among the 200 packed into a meeting room at Common Ground had plenty to say.

"What have you done for the middle class?"

"He's still in the Army and qualifies for food stamps!"

"Will we see a path to citizenship in the immigration bill?"

Both sides of the health care debate wanted answers. Social Security funding came up and many wanted to know what he was going to do about immigration.

“We need to do border security first and an e-verify program,” said Terry. “And we've talked about that. Those need to be done before you have the discussion of what to do with the people already here."

Congressman Terry’s next Town Hall will be 9 a.m. Saturday at the Gretna American Legion.
