Have you ever wanted to fire off an email to a congressional representative? You can't for some members of Congress unless he or she is your representative and that included Lee Terry of Nebraska.
Noelle Ptomey of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska complained when she could not email Terry through his website, which requires a form to be filled out and that couldn't be done if your zip code is outside of his district. She's in Rep. Jeff Fortenberry's district.
After The Associated Press asked about it, Terry's office promised to change it. Terry's spokesman Larry Farnsworth said Terry didn't intend to block anyone from contacting his office.
Nebraska Congressman Adrian Smith uses the same system. His office said it will keep the policy in place, designed to limit contact to district residents only.
