Teens Questioned In Carjacking

Three teenagers have been taken in for questioning in connection to a carjacking and attempted carjacking early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to Immanuel Medical Center around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim reported that she as she was leaving the emergency room parking lot, a white truck pulled up and blocked her vehicle in. A man got out and carjacked her at gunpoint. The suspect was last seen leaving the hospital in the victim's Honda; followed by another suspect in the white truck.

Officers searched the area for the suspects and only located the white truck abandoned near 40th and Ida Street at 6:15 a.m. Police said that vehicle was found to be stolen, processed, and released back to its owner.

At 7:00 a.m. officers were called Dick's Sporting Goods at Westroads Mall for an attempted carjacking.

The victim told officers as she was exiting the vehicle two men attempted to take her vehicle at gunpoint. The victim shut the door and fled the area.

As officers were searching for the suspects and the silver Honda Civic, 911 dispatched received a call of a prowler in the parking lot of Lowes, near 76th & Dodge. The description given was three suspects in a silver Honda Civic.

By the time police arrived, the suspects had left; however, officers quickly spotted the Honda Civic near 72nd and Farnam. They conducted a traffic stop and took three teenagers in for questioning.

Police have not released any other details about the teenagers or what charges may be filed.
