A Torrington, Wyoming teenager charged with murder in the death of a Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska jail guard was sentenced Thursday for his role in a convenience store robbery last year.

Fifteen-year-old Dylan Cardeilhac was given eight to 15 years in prison for aiding in the robbery in Mitchell, Nebraska in December. He was one of two teens accused of being involved in the holdup.

Cardeilhac has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the strangling of 24-year-old corrections officer Amanda Baker on February 14th. Authorities say he lured Baker into his jail cell and then pounced on her, strangling her from behind. He has pleaded not guilty.

A judge postponed the start of his trial after a defense attorney requested more time to research evidence in the case. Sixteen-year-old Guy Eagle Elk of Lisco, Nebraska is facing an aiding and abetting first-degree assault charge in Baker's death.
