The son of the Superintendent at Treynor Community Schools was charged with with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and first-degree kidnapping Thursday, after turning himself in.
Seventeen-year-old Kreighton Elwood of Treynor, Iowa was arrested by authorities in July, for events dating back to November 2012.
Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber told Channel 6, "The kidnapping first degree is very serious. It carries a life in prison penalty...a very serious charge. Sex abuse in the third degree...these are class c felonies which carry up to ten years in prison."
Channel 6 tracked down Court affidavits that show Elwood allegedly picked up a Treynor High School classmate at her house - and brought her out to a nearby cornfield, where he allegedly sexually abused her. She attempted to get out of the truck - but he forced her to stay. The documents also say he took her cell phone and hid it.
The victim told investigators Elwood forcefully removed all her clothes except her underwear, and then began to kiss and touch her. She also explained he tried to force her hands down his pants.
At that point the girl says she heard a witness come out of the neighboring house. But she says Elwood then put his hand over her mouth and pushed her down in the seat., to keep her from screaming for help.
A similar incident -with a different Treynor classmate- allegedly took place only a month later, in December, when the district had a snow day.
Court documents describe Elwood, again, allegedly having a girl in his car. The second girl told investigators he tried to "literally rip (her clothes) off" and tried to force sex on her.
The girl told investigators she repeatedly told Elwood "no."
Wilber told Channel 6 Elwood is a senior in an alternative education program, but at the time of the events, he was a junior at Treynor High School.
In total, Four girls have made complaints about him. The two other charges are being dealt with in Juvenile court because they are filed as misdemeanors.
Elwood will have an Arraignment date to plead guilty or not guily Sept 3. Initial trial is set for October 29.
