An 18-year-old accused of killing another teen during a fight in July has entered a no contest plea to manslaughter and a gun charge.
Zachary Neuberger was originally charged with 2nd degree murder but entered a plea deal Wednesday taking away the possibility of a life sentence.
According to Police, 19-year-old Naif Al-Kazahy was walking with his brother and friends at a house near 1328 S. Sumner Street when a argument broke out with a group of people sitting on the porch last July.
Police say the incident escalated to a physical altercation and Neuberger produced a shotgun.
Police say a single shot was fired, which struck Al-Kazahy in the chest.
Police say Al-Kazahy's brother and friends dragged him away from the scene to the 1400 block of Sumner street, where police were called.
Al-Kazahy was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery, but did not survive his injuries.
Neuberger faces 1-20 years in prison for manslaughter, 1-50 years for possession of a firearm to commit a felony.
Sentencing is April 15th at 2:00pm.
