Future teachers received a first-hand look at what their career could look like Tuesday morning.
Inside the student center on the campus of UNO, the "Showcase of Teaching" aimed to motivate high school students to consider a career in education. A panel of current college education students answered questions. But a key part of this year's conference was including eight current teachers to share their first-hand experiences inside the classroom.
"They learn I think two things, one what that teacher thinks about their career as a teacher, and also they demonstrate what an outstanding teacher can do, how they can excite kids in their classroom,” Ronald Burmood, coordinator with the College of Education said.
This is the 25th year. Organizers estimate that more than 5,000 students have explored a career in education while attending the "Showcase of Teaching".
