Report shows where property tax money go in Cass County. The information is from the annual report of the Nebraska Department of Revenue Property Assessment Division.

The Cassgram reports there was $52,347,924 in property taxes levied in 2012 in Cass County, about 3.5% more than in 2011. Below is the share breakdown of by classifications in the county (as a whole. The percentages will vary by community and school district.)

Miscellaneous $2,360,231 // 4.51%

Fire districts $789,406 // 1.51%

Educational service units $430,116 // 0.82%

Natural resources district $1,004,600 // 1.92%

Community colleges $1,657,522 // 3.17%

County $11,240,294 // 21.47%

Cities and Villages $2,848,849 // 5.44%

School districts $32,016,908 // 61.16%

---Cass County's property valuation increased to about $2.64-billion in 2012, a 3.49% increase.
