Taxpayer Input Not A Waste

Taxpayer input needed for County Waste Resource Plan.

Meetings will be at 4pm Wednesday, June 26th at the Beaver Lake Club House and at 4pm Wednesday, July 24th at the Expo Building on the fairgrounds.

The Cassgram reports Cass County will be updating its 1994 Waste Management Plan.

The county board retained Firstar Fiber Corporation to begin that process. Dale Gubbels, the CEO of Firstar, told the board the first phase will be gathering information from a variety of sources in order to apply for grant money for the next phase of plan development. He said the county’s best chance of getting grant funds is “to make a cogent presentation” in the grant applications.

In cooperation with the public, cities and villages, and other governmental agencies, the June and July meetings “will provide the opportunity to shape the vision of what the county’s new Waste Resource Plan will look like,” said the news release.

Organizers will release a meeting agenda and additional information as the meetings approach.
