The Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority announced Thursday TD Ameritrade Park Omaha has been selected as the 2012 College Baseball Field of the Year by SportsTurf Managers Association.

A panel of 11 judges independently scored each entry based on the playability and appearance of the playing surfaces, innovative solutions employed, effective use of budget and the development and implementation of a comprehensive, sound agronomic program.

“The Field of the Year Award validates the intense dedication of our members,” said Kim Heck, CEO of the Sports Turf Managers Association. “The challenges that TD Ameritrade Park Omaha faces and the innovative solutions Turf Manager Dan Blank employs are truly amazing and award worthy. He and his crew are very deserving of this prestigious award."

The STMA Field of the Year Award honors baseball, football, softball, and sporting grounds fields in three categories: Professional, College and University and School and Parks. This year, there were a total of 11 awards presented.

Award winners will be honored at the Annual Awards Banquet in Daytona Beach, Florida on January 18, 2013. For more information, click the link below.
