Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said Friday a second suspect, 20-year-old Adrian Casares, is being sought in the murder of a Lincoln man found dead last Sunday by a newspaper carrier.

Twenty-three-year-old Miguel Castillo of Lincoln was arrested Wednesday for the murder of 25-year-old Tyler Schoenrock. Police say Schoenrock was shot multiple times at North 1st Street between West Bluff Road and West Waverly Road north of Lincoln. His body was discovered there around 4:45 a.m.

Court documents reveal a witness saw Castillo and Casares confront Schoenrock last Saturday about being a snitch. The witness claimed Casares had a gun.

Castillo told police the three of them drove in the country Sunday morning and Casares stopped the vehicle and got out with Schoenrock. Castillo said he stayed in the vehicle, heard shots being fired and saw Schoenrock fall to the ground. Castillo said he did not know this was going to occur, but admitted he never checked on Schoenrock, never called for medical attention and never noticed law enforcement.

Schoenrock was given three years probation in October 2009 for drug convictions. He was given two years probation in February 2006 after pleading guilty to being an accessory to a robbery.

Castillo was booked for first-degree murder. He also has a criminal record, including assault, child abuse, driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.
