The Open Door Mission officially opened the door on a supportive housing complex Thursday afternoon.

It will allow people to get back on their feet and onto a better life.

Stable housing is one of the cornerstones of breaking the cycle of poverty so the Open Door Mission built affordable apartments.
The rent includes utilities and Internet and each unit has a washer and dryer in the back there is a playground for the children who live in the facility.

Candace Gregory says, "It was very important to not only create an apartment but to create that community and neighborhood feeling and so this is so exciting for us."

The three bedroom unit rents for $550 per month. All of the residents are working toward a better life.
