Several large boat and submarine propellers have been stolen from Omaha's Freedom Park.
A volunteer at the historical park along the Missouri River told police that three 32-inch manganese bronze propellers, and two 6-foot manganese bronze propellers were taken. The smaller propellers are valued at $1,000 a piece and weigh about 450 pounds each. Each of the larger propellers are valued at $3,000 and weigh in at 1,750 pounds.
The theft was discovered Tuesday. Sixty feet of chain link fence and a security camera were also damaged.
Freedom Park features several decommissioned military vessels including the U.S.S. Hazard minesweeper from World War II and the Marlin submarine.
The park has been closed to the public since the flood of 2011.
