The man who was the subject of a high-profile rough arrest last year appeared in court Tuesday to charges in another case.
has been taken into custody on trespassing and drug possession charges.
A woman tells police that she found 29-year-old Octavius Johnson in her bedroom around 7 a.m. on Sunday. That was near 40th and Grebe Street. She said she knows him, but did not invite him into her house.
Johnson was booked for several crimes including trespassing and felony drug possession. Tuesday, a judge set bond at ten percent of $5,000. He is expected back in court on August 26.
He is the man who was arrested at 33rd and Seward in March of last year. The rough arrest was captured on video by someone across the street. A number of officers responded to the incident and ran into the home where his two brothers also lived.
That incident was widely scrutinized and led to the discipline or firing of four officers. Two police officers faced criminal charges.
