Students Tackle City Of Tomorrow
Sixth, seventh and eighth-graders from schools across the metro competed in a contest Friday at ESU 3 in La Vista where imagination met engineering.
They were asked to plan, construct and present a futuristic city that would manage storm water pollution and runoff.
"In the future anything is possible, you have to just think outside the box and just go with it,” said Elkhorn Middle School eighth-grader Carter Christensen. "When you have something that goes wrong or if something goes really right, you want to work off of that.”
One winner from the competition will compete against 36 other regional winners at the national competition held next month in Crystal City, Virginia.
