Students at Millard's Willowdale Elementary School got a chance to meet Miss Nebraska on Wednesday.
Omaha's Ellie Lorenzen talked about her duties as Miss Nebraska and answered questions. The 22-year-old just graduated with honors from Lindenwood University in St. Louis.
Lorenzen will represent Nebraska next month at the Miss USA Pageant in Las Vegas. The pageant will be televised live on NBC Sunday, June 16th at 8 p.m.
Lorenzen is involved in charitable organizations, including the Miss Amazing Pageant. "The Miss Amazing Pageant is a pageant for girls with physical and mental disabilities and it started here in Nebraska and also in Missouri and is now in 25 more states and is growing every single day. It gives girls an opportunity to build life skills I have learned through pageantry, such as public speaking, interview skills and feeling beautiful inside."
