Students Wednesday raised $2,000 for the American Cancer Society, but their generosity didn't stop there.
The idea to collect dimes originated with a group of Gomez Heritage Elementary School students, the Leadership Stars. Their determination to give back continued with the trio who got their hair cut to donate to Locks of Love.
“I am very inspired by them,” said parent volunteer Kari Hodoly. “It's very touching to see little kids come forward and want to help in the community, so very inspiring."
Locks of Love will use the girls' hair to make wigs for cancer patients.
