A truck driver was able to back his vehicle out from under an Omaha pedestrian bridge after becoming stuck trying to make a turn Thursday morning.

The semi was eastbound on West Center Road when it became stuck under the pedestrian span trying to go right onto South 108th Street. No one was hurt and the truck sustained minor damage.

The bridge did not appear to be damaged, but a city engineer will check it.

The driver was cited by police for ignoring the traffic sign warning of clearance restrictions and for hitting a fixed object. Traffic was slowed for a time going through the intersection northeast of the Rockbrook Village Shopping Center east of Interstate 680.
