Omaha Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that is either daring or just plain foolish. It happened over the noon hour, in a quiet south Omaha neighborhood.
But there is another strange twist to this home invasion story.
Omaha Police aren't called to the Munnelly Park Neighborhood very often. It's is strange when they are and this home invasion robbery certainly fits that description because the gunmen in this case, they weren't strangers; they were friends of the victim.
Minutes after the lunch hour call to 9-1-1 Omaha Police are on scene at the home invasion but they are also canvassing neighbors to see what they may have seen or heard.
But this home invasion didn't start off with anyone yelling or kicking in the door.
Chris says, "They just opened it, it was unlocked." Reporter asks, "So they just walked in?" "Yeah, they were friends." Reporter asks, "Oh, so you know these people?" Chris answers, "Yeah, they were my friends, I know two of them."
"Chris" asked that we not show his face or use his real name. He's shaken by the robbery and isn't sure who he can trust.
They way "Chris" describes it there were no threats, no violence just a gun and his full cooperation.
"Chris" says, "They came in, pointed it at us, and give us everything you've got. Just like a movie."
"Chris" hopes it ends like a movie as well, with the bad guys behind bars.
Neighbors tell me they are surprised that this happen in their neighborhood, and a little embarrassed but they also said if it was going to happen this is the house where it is most likely to happen. As far as the owner is concerned he says he helps people at anytime of the day or night and this home invasion robbery is not going to
