As the metro works to clean up Mother Nature's mess from Monday morning, the City of Omaha announced its extending the hours of both drop-off sites.

In Omaha, two drop-off sites have been designated, 11th and Locust and Tranquility Park near 120th and Maple. Both are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday, June 29.

In Council Bluffs, it's business as usual for tree limb pick up. Those who have city waste services will need to place their yard waste by the curb on their regularly scheduled pick up day.

They ask that you gather limbs and branches into bundles of no more than 4’ in length by 2’ in diameter and 60 pounds in weight. Use string or twine to tie the bundles. Do not use wire or nylon rope.

Other area residents wishing to dispose of yard waste may do so at the Council Bluffs Recycling Center for a charge of $20 per ton. The Recycling Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
