Just a day after it was reported stolen, a large wooden carving of a bear has been returned to its home in Davenport, Iowa.

An anonymous tip led police to a St. Ambrose University dorm room and the bear was returned to its place in the yard.

The bear was reported stolen Sunday morning.

Along with the bear was a note from the thieves, which said they didn't know how much the bear meant to its owners and apologizing
"for committing this horribly stupid moronic prank."
