Stolen items found in car.Two men booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property and other charges.
The Cassgram reports Plattsmouth Police conducted a traffic stop Friday afternoon in the 2000 block of West 8th. The initial reason for the stop was speeding. Then the officer was notified that the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. The vehicle was inventoried prior to being towed and officers located numerous items in the vehicle which appeared to be stolen, said Police Chief Steve Rathman.
Officers also located a clear plastic baggie with several pills in it. The pills were later positively identified as prescription narcotics.
Numerous items of personal identification that did not belong to the occupants of the vehicle were found too.
The vehicle was later towed to a secure location so that a search warrant could be obtained. It is believed that the vehicle contains items stolen from several areas in the Omaha metro area.
Rathman said Dustin Meckna, age 24, and Alexander Mejia, age 25, both of Omaha were arrested and booked into the Cass County Jail on various charges which include possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
The case remains under investigation.
