A man who was the subject of an intense standoff this summer in Bellevue has escaped from a halfway house. Bellevue police confirm for Channel 6 News that Raymond Churchich cut his ankle bracelet off and left.
Churchich was in a pretrial program at the halfway house.
Police say in August, the 30-year-old Churchich was the subject of a five and a half hour standoff at his home near 25th & Alberta Avenue. When officers arrived at the home that day, they heard gunshots coming from inside the house.
The man who was inside also fired through a window in the front of the house and struck a vehicle that officers were using for cover.
On Monday morning, police say they are actively searching for Churchich but have not found him.
