A long-running bond issue for Sarpy county residents is coming to the ballot in November. It's a measure to upgrade safety features at Springfield-Plattesview schools.
If approved, the $35.7 million proposal would increase taxes for homeowners. For a $100,000 home, those rates would increase by $21 per month.
The money would revamp tornado shelters in some area schools, while creating secured front entrances and other modern security measures at others.
