It’s that time of the year when many of us start to head outdoors, so volunteers spent Saturday morning making sure Carter Lake is ready for the spring boom.
Volunteers were going around the shoreline with bags in hand, picking up any trash they could find. The hope is to get the area in tip-top shape. The cleanup was organized by the Carter Lake Preservation Society.
Many of the volunteers were Creighton students. “Creighton does Creighton Cleanup,” said Kayla Good. "We are in Alpha Phi and a lot of our sisters are doing it. There are about 40 of us out here. It’s fun to do something nice with our sisters and help the community."
After the volunteers bagged the trash, it was collected and put into dumpsters.
