Students at South High reached out to students at Benson High with stuffed animals to share their condolences. Both schools have lost students to gun violence.
On Tuesday, 16-year-old Eriana Carr, was shot and killed at 35th and Redick.
South High lost 16-year-old Montrell Wiseman, after he was gunned down last Sunday.
Khalil Westbrook, a junior at South High says they came to make a statement that they’re tired of the violence.
“We just don't like seeing mothers burying their own son or daughter and it should be the other way around. We want to see kids be the future because it basically starts with us.”
The principals of each school are organizing a "Pledge for Peace" rally on Friday. Students and the community will show their support in ending the violence.
