The metro received some light snow Sunday morning, just enough to make roads slippery.

Crews were out salting and in some cases plowing. There were several minor accidents involving vehicles that had slid off the road.

Most of Nebraska avoided snow, but the southeast corner of the state received as much as eight inches in the Pawnee City area. Nearly seven inches fell near Rulo and about six inches in Auburn and Humboldt.

Four to eight inches of snow fell in Iowa, the higher amounts in the south-central part of the state. State Transportation Department engineer Bob Younie said drivers should consider staying home if they don't need to travel as wind gusts of up to 30 mph will continue to make travel difficult through Monday morning.

One accident blocked westbound Interstate 80 for three hours near Williamsburg Sunday morning. Another accident was blocking westbound I-80 near Waukee around 11 a.m.
