Snow days add two days to one school district’s calendar may affect others.
The Cassgram reports with action by the Plattsmouth Board of Education this week, the last student day for the 2012-2013 school year is May 24 (full day) and the last teacher day is May 31st. The original school calendar had May 22nd as the last day for students.
Elmwood-Murdock Superintendent Dan Novak says that according to the negotiated agreement with teachers, the Elmwood-Murdock Board of Education sets the final school day for the year at the April board meeting. Novak says the district built in a couple of extra days and at the most, would add two days, if any at all.
Conestoga will not need to alter its calendar at this point as it will have enough attendance hours to qualify for the state’s requirements, says Supt. Dr. Beth Johnsen.
No changes are needed now for the Louisville and Weeping Water districts and the last student day for both is May 22nd.
