Omaha police have released surveillance video of a bold smash & grab theft at the Crossroads Mall Sears store. The crime was reported after 6pm on Saturday April 14.
The video shows a man running into the store. Witnesses say he was wearing dark clothing and had a bandana covering his face. He ran to a jewelry counter where he smashed the case with a brick. The man grabbed 17 gold chains and ran out the door.
The man climbed into a vehicle that was waiting outside for him. The vehicle was recovered, but it was reported stolen.
Sears placed the value of the chains at $11,000.
