Public hearings on small town development, The Louisville City Council then took action on items connected with the townhome development and light industrial park proposed for the community.
The Cassgram reports according to the (pending) minutes of this month’s meeting, hearings were held on the preliminary plat, the blighted and substandard designation, and the zoning classification changes for the subdivision.
The minutes said there were some residents who spoke against the development. Concerns were expressed about water drainage, extra traffic and the location of the light industrial park.
Ordinances pertaining to rezoning the property on the southwest edge of Louisville all passed on 3-0 votes as did the blighted and substandard designation.
An ordinance on the annexation of the property was laid over until the redevelopment plan is completed and received.
The city council was told that a separate economic development study will be necessary before a tax increment financing plan can be brought back before the council.
