The siding on the side of a four year old home is peeling back like an onion. But a warranty doesn't do the homeowner any good because the builder and subcontractor have gone out of business.
Rose Davis worries about damage to her home with the top third of one side exposed. Rose said, "I'm worried because if the insulation gets moisture there'll be mold."
The home was built by now bankrupt Hearthstone homes. Rose didn't no where to turned for repairs. She lives on disability.
John Cleek of Exteriors Plus has worked with several Hearthstone homeowners and offered to help Rose. Cleek said, "Matching the siding is the problem we've been running into but a supplier happened to take over a dye lot that matches."
Cleek hopes to convince Rose's insurance to pay to replace the entire west side of her home. If not he'll work to repair siding at a good price.
A neighbor a block away has a similar problem.
