Update: Shots Fired Outside Sokol Auditorium, Teen Arrested

A teenage boy was arrested after shots were fired on a crowded Omaha street Sunday morning outside Sokol Auditorium.

Officers working off-duty at the 13th and Martha facility reported a large fight had broken out around 12:20 a.m. following a concert and shots were fired from a vehicle speeding from the scene. Two vehicles were damaged by bullets.

Police spotted the vehicle heading westbound on Vinton Street and pulled it over near 36th Street and Interstate 80. When the vehicle stopped, a teenager got out and ran. After a foot chase, with assistance from the police helicopter, the teen was caught near 35th and Valley streets.

The 17-year-old was booked for being a minor in possession of a gun, carrying a concealed weapon, having an unregistered gun, obstructing a peace officer and on three misdemeanor warrants.

Three others who were in the vehicle were taken to police headquarters and questioned. They were not charged.
