Shorter Hours at Omaha Social Security Office

This will give workers 30 minutes to wrap up the day’s business and leave. Congress provided Social Security with nearly $1-billion less than what the President requested for the budget fiscal year. For that reason, the Social Security Administration said it was impossible to provide the overtime needed to handle the current service to the public.

Most of the business done at the Social Security Administration does not require a visit to the local office. Applying for benefits, signing up for direct deposit, replacing a Medicare card, obtaining a proof of income letter or informing SSA of a change of address or telephone number can be done online.
