There was a different kind of shopper at an Omaha Goodwill store on Wednesday.

About 200 people attended the job fair at the 72nd and Ames store where nine metro employers set up booths to sell their companies to prospective workers. Many of the jobs involve customer relations. Job seekers had a chance to fill out applications and talk to representatives from each business.

“It’s very important, these jobs are something you can look up to and make into a career,” said Taviyon Mills. “Sometimes you can figure out if this may or may not be what you want.”

“Good candidates, they've got a lot of background in customer service,” said Mutual of Omaha’s Tammy Kruse. “Couple of people looking for housekeeping and janitorial positions, but for the most part a lot of call center so customer serve rep opportunities here.”

The job fair lasted five hours and was sponsored by Goodwill Industries.
