A 33 year old man will be sentenced December 3rd on two Class IIIA Felony counts.
The Cassgram reports Owen Adams pled no contest to two counts of sexual assault of a child. A Class 1B Felony count of first degree sexual assault of a child was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. The agreement on sentencing is that the prosecution and defense will jointly recommend that any prison sentences on each count be served consecutively (one after the other), said Chief Deputy Cass County Attorney Colin Palm. Each conviction carries a prison sentence of up to 5 years.
Adams, who was extradited back to Nebraska in June of this year from California, was named on arrest warrants last year after a lengthy Plattsmouth Police Department investigation. Owens was implicated in the sexual assaults of a then 9-year-old child and a then 10-year-old child when he lived in Plattsmouth in 2008, said Palm.
Owens has remained in Cass County Jail since his return to this state. His bond is $250,000 (10% applicable).
