Sentence in Violent Pawn Shop Robbery


A Council Bluffs teenager is headed to prison for robbing a pawn shop and stealing guns.

18-year-old DeQuan White pleaded guilty to 2nd degree robbery on Tuesday.

A Pottawattamie County District Judge sentenced him to ten years.

Prosecutors say he'll have to serve 7-years before he's eligible for parole.

White was one of three who robbed the Browns Loans pawn shop in Council Bluffs in November 2012.

His step-brother -- 16-year-old Alex Provencher is accused of pistol-whipping the clerk. He goes to court next week.

The store lookout has also been charged.

Investigators tell Channel 6 News three-of-the-ten stolen guns have been recovered.
