A school bus with three students on board rolled onto its side in Pottawattamie County near its border with Mills County south of Council Bluffs late Thursday afternoon. The students were not hurt, though the driver suffered some bumps and bruises.
Investigators tell Channel 6 News the driver had to take evasive action on Applewood Road east of Interstate 29 to avoid another vehicle around 5 p.m.
The shoulder of the road was apparently soft due to recent rains, causing the bus to roll on its side.
