A water quality research project inspired College of Saint Mary students to ask for a freshwater aquarium. A year and a half later, the school is adding a school of fish.
Wednesday, students and faculty added four types of Nebraska fish to the new aquarium including channel catfish, bluegill, yellow perch and black crappie.
“This new addition to the Science department gives our students a hands-on tool to learn how a water ecosystem functions,” says Dr. Christine Pharr.
This aquarium, is 90 inches long, 40 inches deep and 36 inches tall. It holds 520 gallons of water.
