School district selling land along Highway 75.
Bomgaars is purchasing land for a new store location. This week, the Plattsmouth Board of Education voted to sell four acres to the Nebraska real estate holding company of Bomgaars. Bomgaars, a regional chain in several states in the Midwest, is now in a building on South 15th Street in Plattsmouth.
The property is north of the future home of Woodhouse Ford.
The Cassgram reports the school board’s action was for a selling price of $400,000 with the tentative closing date of July 1st.
The school district bought seven acres at the location in 2010 for $245,000. The property was eyed as a possible new school location. The district then sold three acres to Woodhouse Ford South a year ago for just over $300,000 and now the four acre sale to Bomgaars takes all of that 2010 purchase off the district’s land inventory.
The district owns the 7.6 acres to the north. The district’s P.A.C.E. Complex is on the former John Deere dealership property.
Plattsmouth Superintendent Dr. Richard Hasty told Cassgram the district does have another purchase option it’s looking at for a potential middle school site. But since that is not a certainty, the district has consulted with an architect about the P.A.C.E. property as a school location and was told it can work.
