The man accused of the drunk driving deaths of four motorcyclists in western Iowa has pleaded not guilty. Andrew Schlichtemeier entered the written plea Friday in Harrison County Court.
Schlichtemeier is facing four counts of vehicular homicide. Authorities say on August 9, the Murray, Nebraska man swerved into oncoming traffic on Interstate 29 near Little Sioux, Iowa and hit the motorcyclists. Tests show his blood alcohol level was nearly four and a half times the legal limit.
Schlichtemeier remains in jail on a $200,000 bond. His trial is set for December 7.
