A remarkable program helping adults who have survived cancer kicks off Monday night at the Sarpy Community YMCA.
It's called LIVESTRONG, and it helps cancer survivors get back to total physical health.
Each participant gets to work with Y trainers to safely achieve their physical goals. Mostly the program focuses on endurance, muscle strength, balance, and flexibility.
"Well, because if you think about cancer survivors, a lot of times they have been dealt a card they never wanted. And so what our program does is it lets them take control of their life. It helps them establish a new normal and it helps them get back on the road to a healthy lifestyle," said Theresa Lovings, YMCA.
The program lasts 12 weeks long and is free to the cancer survivor and their families.
