Retail sales report shows decreases in eastern Nebraska. But car sales going up. The Cassgram reports the Nebraska Department of Revenue’s Net Taxable Sales Report, comparing August 2011 to August 2010, shows Cass County with a 4.8% sales decrease to $9,615,013. In the Plattsmouth city limits, August sales were off 0.5% to $4,501,337.
(The July ’11 report had Cass County with a 4.1% sales increase and Plattsmouth with a 3.3% increase from a year earlier.)
Statewide, August 2011 taxable sales were 4.1% higher than in 2010.
The August report for neighboring counties: Otoe [-8.3%], Lancaster [+3.9%], Saunders [+9.8%] and Sarpy [+4.6%].
Nearby cities: Ashland [+13.1%], Bellevue [-2.1%], Nebraska City [-10.5%], Papillion [+10.3%] and Syracuse [-0.9%].
The NDR’s August Net Taxable Motor Vehicle Sales Report said Cass County recorded a 10.4% decrease when compared to the same month in 2010. Taxable motor vehicle sales totaled $4,185,987.
