Police made two arrests Wednesday evening in the area of 39th and Frederick after spotting a stolen vehicle, but they ended up charging the suspects with much more.
Inside the stolen vehicle were 59-year-old Ulysses Harris and 44-year-old Steven Smith. When police took them in for questioning, officers ended up charging Harris with seven robberies. Smith was charged with being an accessory to a felony and theft by receiving, $500-$1,500.
Police have tied Harris to robberies at the Speedee Mart, 13235 Grover Street, on November 1st, Sun Tan City, 6307 Center Street, also robbed November 1st, Little Polonia Bar, 3804 Q Street, held up on November 2nd, the CD Tradepost, 7918 Dodge Street, and the Tobacco Hut, 4865 Center, both robbed November 4th, C.A. Nails, 2766 South 129th Avenue, robbed November 6th and International Bead, 2930 South 110th Street , robbed on November 7th.
