Lincoln police say a man pulled off two robberies but only made off with a one dollar bill and a lighter. His weapon of choice seems rather unusual. He threatened his victims with a pink baseball bat.
It all began about 10:30 Wednesday night when, police say, 26-year old Robert P. Allen threatened a man in the area of 33rd and Woods in Lincoln. He demanded the man’s cash and then fled with the man’s one dollar bill and his lighter.
About 45 minutes later, he entered the U-Stop at South 27th and Stockwell. Armed with the pink bat, Allen allegedly demanded money. He did not steal any cash but caused about $1,000 in damage.
Witnesses gave police the robber’s description and his license plate. Police found Allen and the car about 1:30am Thursday. The pink bat and stolen lighter were recovered from the car. No word, however, on the whereabouts of the one dollar bill.
