Raising money for charity took a fun and creative turn in Council Bluffs on June 25th.
Texas Roadhouse held a rib eating contest between the police and firemen. Each team had to down four plates of ribs, and then chug a glass of applesauce. This yummy challenge all to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project and the Special Olympics.
"Applesauce is not easy to chug, but when it comes to fire fighters and the police, we are always out to raise money for charity, so whatever it takes," said Daniel Niles, Council Bluffs Fire Department.
The fire fighters triumphed over the police in the end, but Texas Roadhouse representatives said no matter the winner, they are still donating ten percent of all dinner sales to both charities.
