A retired Davenport police captain has pleaded guilty to stalking one of his former girlfriends.
The Quad-City Times reports that 56-year-old Kevin Murphy, of Bettendorf, submitted a written plea on Wednesday as part of an agreement with prosecutors.
Geoff Greenwood with the Iowa Attorney General's office says two burglary charges will be dropped in exchange for Murphy's guilty plea.
Prosecutors say Murphy entered the home of a former girlfriend in Davenport on three occasions.
On one occasion, Murphy entered the home when the woman was sleeping. Prosecutors say Murphy held his hand over the woman's mouth and ordered her not to call police.
Murphy is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 10.
