Nebraska's retail sales report has been released for small communities near Omaha. The Cassgram reports the July numbers were down just a bit when compared to a year ago.
Officials said this is the first time in 10 months the county sales did not show better-than-the-year-before results.
The Nebraska Department of Revenue’s Net Taxable Sales Report, comparing July 2012 to July 2011, shows Cass County with a 3.3% sales decrease to $10,147,181. In the Plattsmouth city limits, July sales were down 1.2% to $4,700,354.
The June ’12 report had Cass County with a 0.3% sales increase and Plattsmouth with a 4.6% decrease over a year earlier. Statewide, July 2012 taxable sales were 7.8% higher than in 2011.
