Rain has delayed pavement work scheduled for the Interstate 180 spur into downtown Lincoln. The Nebraska Department of Roads says the project was to begin Thursday night. The work has been rescheduled to next week.
The department says that starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, I-180 will be closed in both directions for a two-mile stretch north of Cornhusker Highway. The spur is expected to be reopened by 6 a.m. Wednesday. Message signs will be employed.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler announced Thursday the NDOR plans to invest over $3.1 million in the state highway system within city limits through next year with another $2.6 million possible in 2015. About $5.7 million will be used to improve over 32 miles of highways in Lincoln.
