A Belle Plain, Iowa man has been shot while hunting raccoons. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says 41-year-old Christopher Pippert and two other men entered an abandoned farm house when one of the other men fired his pistol.
The incident was reported about 2pm Tuesday, the first day of raccoon hunting season in Iowa.
Pippert was shot in his left ankle. He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids where he was treated for a gunshot wound described as non-life threatening.
